TONE and the good folks who help put together 'Live At The Loft' recently welcomed 8thW1 &PVD to stop by and perform their new album, Lux DeVille, for some for some lucky Tri-State inhabitants. Fortunately, they recorded the audio/visuals from that night and have been kind enough to share it with the world for anyone who wasn't able to be in attendance. For your listening enjoyment, Live At The Loft presents 8thW1 & PVD performing a live rendition of their new album Lux DeVille. We're pleased to have fully vetted Loft alumnus Homeboy Sandman in attendance as our special guest host, along with DJ Ben Boogz of 2 Hungry Bros. as our rare groove selector. All the makings of a signature evening at the Loft...

After an extended respite from the biz, 8thW1 is back to what he does best, reciting straightforward stanzas over massaging instrumentals. With Lux DeVille we catch 8th as he ponders the troubles of the world and the potential for sun rays on the other side. His main cohort PVD plays the role of funky drummer, composer, and producer, laying beds of electronic jazz over hip-hop beats. We're proud to announce the newest name to the Elementality team, the New Jersey based MC, 8thW1.

8thW1 has been around on the NYC/NJ underground hip-hop scene for quite a few years. Since 2008, 8th has been making a name for himself with a pair of albums - lovemoneyandmusic and No Room for Dessert along with a couple mixtapes - Crazy 8's and Suicide By Jellyfish. After a two year hiatus, 8thW1 returned to the studio in 2012 with longtime friend and producer, PVD, to work on his next album.

To kick off this new journey of ours, check out this footage Bobby Garcia grabbed of 8th & PVD in the studio during one of their sessions. 8th's debut Elementality LP, Lux DeVille, will be released in May 2013.
