Picture These Remixes, dropping March 2nd, 2010, is one of the latest Hip-Hop releases to be featured in the iTunes Indie Spotlight. After a six year hiatus, Beat*Society has teamed up with DJ K.O. to remix his critically acclaimed album Picture This. Prepare to be knocked out by this compilation of hip-hop heavyweights sharing tracks with the industries illest up and coming emcees and producers.
The result from opening the vaults of K.O.’s album for the next generation of Beat*Society producers is a tribute to hip-hop’s past, present, and future. Veterans like Masta Ace, Diamond D, O.C., and Edo. G bring back the past, while lyricists like Talib Kweli, eLZhi (Slum Village) and Royce Da 5’9” represent today’s hottest performers, and emerging stars like Skyzoo, Silent Knight, Torae & Emilio Rojas set the bar for what’s to come.
Over the years with their events and releases, Beat*Society has helped introduce the world to producers such as Marco Polo, !llmind, Oddisee & Kev Brown to name a few. This release will only add to their legacy. It’s time to get acquainted with the next generation of producers from Beat*Society, courtesy of DJ K.O.’s vaults.

So November 13th is here and we’ve got the Ladder of Success Remix Contest winner to announce. There we’re quite a bit of submissions (ranging from not so great to great). So to give some of the talented producers a chance to shine as well; we decided to upload the top runner-ups as well. So here we go!

Beat*Society & DJ K.O.’s “Ladder of Success” Remix Contest

As Beat*Society & DJ K.O. get closer to releasing “Picture These Remixes”, they’ve teamed to give up and coming producers one more chance to get on the project with the “Ladder of Success” Remix Contest. Here’s what DJ K.O. had to say about the song and opportunity…
This track was the first song completed for my album “Picture This” way back in 2006. The idea for the song came about while sitting at a bar with Analogic (who produced the original track). We were plotting on how to make an entrance into the game. Somehow we got on the topic of ill emcees and started talking about Phonte, Masta Ace & Wordsworth. At that point in time, Tay and Ace had never been on a song before. We thought it would be really dope to hear them all together. Next thing I know I have three ill verses on the struggles of trying to climb the “ladderof success” in the game…but no hook. Picked up the horn and hit up my man K-Hill to see if he could come up with something. Next thing I know I’ve got a hook….PLUS 20 bars from yet another perspective on trying to come up in the game.
So now here is YOUR chance to come up in the game and climb the “Ladderof Success” by remixing the track featuring verses from Phonte, Wordsworth, K-Hill & Masta Ace. The winning submission will be featured on my upcoming album.
Entry Dates and Deadlines:
1. The contest opens at 12:00am Eastern Daylight Time on October 23, 2009 and closes at 11:59pm Eastern Daylight Time on November 10, 2009. Entries must be received on or before 11:59pm EST on November 10, 2009.
2. The winner will be announced on elementalityproductions.com on or by November 13, 2009.

Download the a ccapella and original from the album “DJ K.O. Presents: Picture This” below. Remix your own song and send a 320kbps MP3 (44.1Khz Constant Bit Rate, Normal Stereo) file of your remix along with your name and email address to PictureTheseRemixes@gmail.com.
Prizes:
1. The winning submission will have the opportunity to have their remix placed on the upcoming album “PICTURE THESE REMIXES” alongside some of the today’s illest emcees & producers.
2. All producers can register @ www.beatsociety.com and have a chance at being selected by the Beat*Society executives to remix select cuts for upcoming projects.
